Step-by-Step: How to Reauthorize Accounts in Quicken

Open Quicken (be sure you are running the most recent version). Go to:

Help → Check for Updates

Identify the Account to Be Reported

  • Click on the Tools menu
  • Choose Account List (Ctrl+A)

Find the account that is having trouble setting up the connection.

Click to the right of the account name………………………… (Edit)

Disable the Current Connection

  • Go to the Online Services tab.
  • Click Deactivate
  • Confirm when prompted
  • Click OK, then go back to Account List

Step 4: Reactivate the Account (Reauthorization)

  1. Go to Tools → Add Account
  2. Search for your financial institution by name

  6. Link the accounts to the existing ones in Quicken

Update Transactions

  • Once reauthorization is complete, go to Tools → One-Step Update
  • Check for any new transactions and verify account balances

Optional: Refresh Online Account Information

  • Go to Tools → Online Center
  • Select your bank from the dropdown.
  • Press Ctrl+Shift+Z to refresh the FI (financial institution) profile.
